Delhi bus rapist: Women should allow men to rape them if they want to live

I don’t get the logic of allowing appeals after appeals in such a open and shut case. #JudicialReforms

  1. So true, what kind nonsense is the law and order in this country entertaining!?

He should have been given the death penalty then and there, no more debates and trials. So much that the lawyer defending them has claimed that if his sister/daughter does engage in any pre marital activity then he would gladly douse them in kerosene and burn them.

I have no clue how his daughter has not filed a complaint in the police claiming direct threat against her life.

    Disgusting it is.

And the juvenile? He will be let out this year! Law and order is a joke here. Further the guilty are living at peace at the tax payer’s money and giving exams and interviews when all they should be entitled to is death by hanging.

This is now the new level of absolute disrespect towards women in the country.

    • Yes it is a sad state but it is the reality. My heart goes out for her parents. So much they endured yet no justice till now. Sadly, we have such a patriarchal society that even the strongest government in decades is unable to amend the law, i guess, because of the fear of Khaps in UP and Hindi heart land. But there is hope and I believe we are moving slowly but surely in the right direction when PM calls for stopping female foeticide from Red Fort. Lets hope the 1000 cr allotted in the budget to Nirbhaya’s fund will prevent such dastardly crimes.

      • I don’t think it will bring about any change.

The thing about this strong government is that it is trying to look like the new bully on court, by talking tough.

Unfortunately only talking the talk but not walking the walk is hopeless.

When this case came into light, a decision should have been taken then and there. The problem with the men here is that they have been programmed to look at a woman and cat call, and no other reaction is expected from them. Including men and women who talk about treating women with respect never stand up for those women who are eve teased, every single day.

And this has just not to do with the hindi speaking state and khap panchayat, if you can threaten a militant country to be in its bounds then why not people of your own country?

The kind of atmosphere and law that has been set here is one that favours men. Why doesn’t the PM take a tough stand and set an example? It isn’t a big task to sentence criminals.

      • Cat calling and eve teasing are just the overt symptoms of our Indian mindset. There is a deep rooted mindset in Indian society, both men and women specially in the Northern part – because of reporting of rapes from North is more than that of South -, about the ‘roles’ of men and women. I wish he had shown dynamism in fast-tracking the case and changing the law. That would have send a stronger message to people and changing their mindset about ‘roles’. But you know how political parties work in India. He is the lesser evil that we have got!

      • Well i think i want the pm that was shown during the campaigning, the one who cracks the whip on the misdoings. This one though has a good agenda for inter country relations has sadly done anything productive for the people here…

As a woman it is very disturbing to me, there have been tons of times when i have contemplated to leaving the country, for good. Will take a few years but if it gets me unscathed from the eve teasing and the constant looming dagger over my head about rapes and acid attacks, then so be it..

      • Your comment gives me goose bumps!!(fear of acid attacks and rape!!) I’m sorry that such strong thoughts like leaving the country cross your mind.

Frankly, I think it would be a complete miracle to see a drastic change in the state of affairs in our life time.

No words of assurance can be given 😦

      • I’m just in the hope that people become a tad bit sensible, if not the entire population then atleast the educated ones and women who have been silently facing this since years. I want people to shout and raise their voice, currently when i do, all that people do is stare and comment that i’m making an issue out of things when a guy teases a girl at the bus stop and all of this is accidental or people don’t react which gives the perpetrators the courage to continue since no one really bothers about such ‘petty’ issues on hand.

        Blogged about two such incidents-
