Arsenal Vs Man City (Match Report)

What a game of football!! So thrilled. Could have easily bagged three points. Childish to give Demichelis so much space. Whatever, today I just want to focus on the positives.

Truly, after a long long time I am watching Arsenal playing with grit and tenacity. Jack Wilshere – boy-o-boy – what a performance. Jamie Redknapp and and other football “pundits” can shove their mikes deep into their throats. It was magical display. They passed with precision. There were several successful back heels. Put Man City out of the game for first half an hour. Thud! There was one counter attack and Arsenal was behind. Koscielny was caught ball watching. Kun Aguero, with a neat masterly finish put Gunners behind.

For the past couple of seasons Arsenal has shown their ability to consistently come back from behind. They did it again. Jack Wilshere with a deft touch took Gael Clichy out of the game and lifted it quickly over the English no. 1. Arsenal had good half an hour to go and they could organize themselves. In the mid seventies, it appeared Sanchez has sealed it for the Gunners. Superb goal into the top corner from Wilshere’s over-the-defense chip. It appeared to me that there was a deviation off Kompany. But, who cares! Arsenal lead now 2-1. Then Debuchy injured himself. Chambers came on. In the melee of things Arsenal conceded a bad goal from a corner. Last few minutes were frantic. Man CIty could have won it. Thanks to superb refereeing and saves by Szczesny. Game ended in a 2-2 draw.

Before signing off I would like to make the point that I was upset with the commentator. He was such a pessimist. He was blaming Arsenal and Ozil for everything. Some people on internet too are unhappy with the draw. Well, I don’t agree with them. It was a tight game. After internation break. Players played their heart out. Loved the commitment. I must also confess that I am worried about Ozil. He looks lackadaiscal to my untrained eye. Hope he sprinkles his magic. The positives were: Danny Welbeck looks like a real deal. Wilshere and Ramsey looking very good. Sanchez – the power house of Arsenal attack. Worries: The holding mid fielder, Monreal looked clueless, so was BFG and Koscielny. I am not concerned much cause they have played together for two seasons already. That can be fixed. Plus I hope Arteta is better holding player than Flamini.

Here’s hoping for more such intense performances from Arsenal.
